RICHARD HANSEN, Attorney
With a sly grin haunting his voice, one judge says of Richard Hansen, “He wins cases he has no business winning.” But with genuine respect the judge adds, “Usually it’s because he’s better prepared than anyone else.”
Another judge agrees: “The quality of his work has always been excellent.”
A partner in the Seattle law firm of Allen and Hansen since 1979, Richard Hansen limits his practice to personal injury, civil rights, state and federal criminal trials and appeals. After receiving his law degree from the University of Washington in 1974, Hansen clerked for U.S. District Judge Marshall A. Neill before moving on to the Seattle-King County Public Defender’s office for a two-year stint.
Once a PD, always a PD; Hansen currently serves as president of the board of directors for the Seattle-King County Public Defenders Association. Hansen also serves on the board of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, an organization for which he was founding president from 1987 to 1989.
Apparently judges aren’t the only ones who think Hansen does a good job; he was listed in 1989 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
